gate28 from our paddock to your plate
My partner and I live on a 3 acre paddock and 28 is our address. I am a Chef by trade and Dave is a Kapiti cheese maker.
We are solar powered and try to live as organically as possible on the paddock. I cook on my NZ made wood fired Homewood Companion stove, which also heats our house and water, click on photo below to meet her maker. We need more time for the vegetable garden but our sport of archery tends to get in the way. We have the beginnings of an orchard and are planting natives on the property to bring in the birds. Eventually I hope to keep bees. I breed purebred Kunekune's for pets and meat. We have free range chooks, a couple of ewes, a dog, and my friends' dove called Bob. I |
More and more people are making lifestyle choices with their food.
Just as my daughter has ranged from vegetarian to ovo-lacto-vegetarian and I have gravitated from low carb and healthy fat to Paleo. Yes, I like butter in my long black coffee. It is important for customers to have menu options that are inclusive to their dietry requirements and become repeat customers. I strive for sustainability, organic and local suppliers when designing menu's but sometimes great food does have to travel some miles. Just as I will travel to your consultations. Please note business's outside the Horowhenua, Kapiti and Wellington districts are asked to make a donation towards petrol. bu AM |
